gigs and live fill-in gigs. His playing is well-versed in styles
ranging from fusion, acid jazz, funk, progressive rock, to heavy and
modern rock. Phil started at the early age of eight, thanks to his
older brother. His early influences were the drummers of Led Zeppelin,
Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Rush, Jeff Beck, Yes, The Who, and Jimi
Hendrix. His current influences include Dennis Chambers, Dave Weckl,
Vinnie Colaiuta, Buddy Rich, Art Blakey, Danny Carey of Tool, Sound
Garden, RATM.
Phil's percussion/music career includes many different roles, such as
band manager and booking contact, former drum teacher, drum technician
for the Boston Symphony Jazz Ensemble, professional custom drum
builder for acts such as B.O.C., Evans Blue, and Dogfight, and studio
drummer for hire. His sound is unique and full with an occasional
heart-pounding drum solo.
